Experienced Custody Litigators
Our firm is mindful that divorces are particularly difficult for children. We always encourage parties in a divorce to put the needs of the children first and to work diligently toward an amicable resolution, if possible. We are also mindful that some child custody and visitation disputes are difficult to resolve by agreement. When a custody or visitation dispute cannot be resolved to the satisfaction of our clients through negotiation or mediation, we have the trial experience necessary to advocate aggressively in defense of their rights in the courtroom.
Strategic Asset Division
Everything owned between the two spouses will be divided equitably between the two during divorce. This means everything that was earned or brought into the marriage (with a few exceptions) will be included in the division.
The assets – and debt – will be divided equitably. This does not necessarily mean a split down the middle. The value of the property and assets will be balanced so that both spouses walk away with an equitable value.
Spousal Support Advocacy
Spousal support is granted based on a few criteria considered by the judge. These include the duration of the marriage, sacrifices made by either spouse for the other and earning potential of both spouses. The primary goal of spousal support proceedings is to ensure that both spouses are provided the financial support they need to move past the divorce and to start a new life with a firm financial foundation.
